Gambling

Gambling has a specific economic definition , referring to wagering money or something of material value on an event with an uncertain outcome with the primary intent of winning additional money and/or material goods. Typically, the outcome of the wager is evident within a short period of time.
The practice of the gambling industry is to take as much money, credit and assets from their customers as quickly and often as possible. They have been very successful at this practice. They acquire huge profits from this practice. The huge profits from this practice are in direct proportion to the huge losses suffered by their customers. This practice of the gambling industry poses a problem for everyone who patronizes them. All customers of the gambling industry have a gambling problem. The problem is only a matter of degree. This book is here to help you solve or prevent this problem.

comment on Anotonia's blog-My Being Bad Blog

hey this is your girl vida. i don't agree that it is ok in any circumstances to commit adultery because the way i see it, if you are not happy in a relationship, just tell the person and either break up, but don't be playing around

BULLYING

Bullying is the act of intimidating a weaker person to make them do something.
There are a lot of reasons why some people bully. They may see it as a way of being popular, or making themselves look tough and in charge. Some bullies do it to get attention or things, or to make other people afraid of them. Others might be jealous of the person they are bullying. They may be being bullied themselves. Some bullies may not even understand how wrong their behaviour is and how it makes the person being bullied feel.
Some people think bullying is just part of growing up and a way for young people to learn to stick up for themselves. But bullying can make young people feel lonely, unhappy and frightened. It makes them feel unsafe and think there must be something wrong with them. They lose confidence and may not want to go to school any more. It may make them sick. http://www.childline.org.uk/Info/Pages/Bullying.aspx

COMMENT ON KARTIK JOSHI BLOG-being bad doeznt make me a bad being.....does it?

My comment is on your information on shoplifting where you have suggested that many goods go to waste in supermarkets. I don't think that just because goods will go to waste in a shop, it is therefore OK for people to shoplift a shop. I believe shoplifting in small or large companies are still a bad thing and the government should take it serious rather than making excuses for it.

PROSTITUTION

Prostitution is when someone is offering sexual intercourse for pay. It is one of the most common professions found in most societies especially in countries where women find it difficult to survive as there is no job security.
Prostitution is bad because it causes many fatal diseases such as HIV and AIDS.The average age of entry into prostitution is 13 years. Research indicates that some teenagers in some society get into prostitution because their family cannot provide for them, or they are conforming to other peers.
Research have also shown that most prostitutes also gets into bad activities such as taking drugs, robbery and other illegal things.
"About 80% of women in prostitution have been the victim of a rape. It's hard to talk about this because..the experience of prostitution is just like rape. Prostitutes are raped, on the average, eight to ten times per year. They are the most raped class of women in the history of our planet

SHOP LIFTING

There is no profile of a typical shoplifter. Men and women shoplift about equally as often.
Approximately 25 percent of shoplifters are kids, 75 percent are adults. One in five adult shoplifters say they started shoplifting in their teens.
Many shoplifters buy and steal merchandise in the same visit. Shoplifters commonly steal from $2 to $200 per incident depending upon the type of store and item(s) chosen.
Shoplifting is often not a premeditated crime. About 70 percent of non-professional shoplifters don't plan to steal in advance.
89 percent of kids say they know other kids who shoplift. 66 percent say they hang out with those kids.
Shoplifters say they are caught an average of only once in every 49 times they steal. They are turned over to the police 50 percent of the time.
A small percentage of shoplifters are "professionals" who steal solely for resale or profit as a business. These include drug addicts who steal to feed their habit, hardened professionals who steal as a life-style and international shoplifting gangs who steal for profit as a business.
The vast majority of shoplifters are "non-professionals" who steal, not out of financial need or greed but as a response to social and personal pressures in their life. Drug addicts, who have become addicted to shoplifting, describe shoplifting as equally addicting as drugs.
57 percent of adults and 33 percent of juveniles say it is hard for them to stop shoplifting even after getting caught.

"Peer pressure is one reason why people shoplift. Some might do it to seem cool or daring. Some do it because their friends shoplift and they want to be part of the group. Some people shoplift because they want things their classmates have but can't afford them.
Some people shoplift to see what they can get away"

STALKERS

stalking is a set of many behaviors (e.g., telephone harassment, sending unwanted gifts, pursuing, or surveillance).Another aspect of stalking behaviors that needs to be explained is that such behaviors can be produced by individuals with very different backgrounds, motivations, and psychological disorders. In other words, a stalker who harbors delusions that the victim is in love with him performs behaviors that are often similar to an ex-partner who seeks revenge for being rejected.

There are several signs that are good indicators of stalking behavior. It is also important to consider the intensity of such behaviors.

1. Persistent phone calls despite being told not to contact in any form.
2. Waiting at workplace or in neighborhood.
3. Threats.
4. Manipulative behavior (for example: threatening to commit suicide in order to get a response to such an "emergency" in the form of contact).
5. Sending written messages: letters, emails, graffiti...
6. Sending gifts from the seemingly "romantic" (flowers and/or candy) to the bizarre (dog teeth, a bed pan, a blood soaked feather) (Dietz et al. 1991b).
7. Defamation: The stalker often lies to others about the victim (claims of infidelity, for example).
8. "Objectification": The stalker derogates the victim, reducing him/her to an object -- this allows the stalker the ability to feel angry with the victim without experiencing empathy (Meloy and Gothard, 1995).

NASTY COMEDIANS

Everyone likes a bit of comedy every now and then. However some comedies become offensive when it is being done to take an advantage f a specific group of people. for example making jokes about black, white, or Asian race is see as being bad and can cause a lot of trouble in society if people continue to joke in that manner.Evening comedy in the U.S. uses racist depictions of immigrants to gain laughs and ratings while misleading the public about the importance of immigrants to our economy and culture. although jokes sad in this manner is sometimes seen as just jokes, there s the possibilities that the comedians actually do mean what they are saying . the most common race jokes normally come between black and White comedians. there are often stereotypes made about these races.

TATTOOS

A tattoo, is a mark made by inserting pigment into the skin for decorative or other reasons. Tattoos on humans are a type of decorative body modification , while tattoos on animals are most commonly used for identification or branding.Tattoos have interested many teenagers today; see the pictures below for more info.
Tattooing has been practiced worldwide. TheAinu
, the indigenous people of Japan, wore facial tattoos, as do some Maori of New Zealand to this day. Tattooing was widespread among Polynesian peoples and among certain tribal groups in the Philippines, Borneo, Africa, South America, New Zealand, etc. Despite some taboos surrounding tattooing, the art continues to be popular in many parts of the world.

WHY PEOPLE GET TATTOOS

1) A lot of people I've spoken to or heard about get tattoos for or about loved ones. Some get them to remember a loved one who has passed away and some get their sons or daughters names or faces on them as a gesture of love.

2) Many people get tattoos as a sign of devotion to their beliefs, and is very commendable.

3) They are trying to rebel against parents/society.

4) They like the way it feels.

5) their firends have it

6) As a sign for a specfic group of gangs.

TEN REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD STOP SMOKING

YOU DON'T LOOK COOL.

My research shows the followng:
1)Smoking is an addiction
2)More than 400,000 deaths
3)Smoking harms not just the smoker, but also family members, coworkers and others who breathe the smoker's cigarette smoke, called secondhand smoke.
4)Secondhand smoke from a parent's cigarette increases a child's chances for middle ear problems, causes coughing and wheezing, and worsens asthma conditions.
5)Pregnant women who smoke are more likely to deliver babies whose weights are too low for the babies' good health. If all women quit smoking during pregnancy, about 4,000 new babies would not die each year.
6)Tobacco smoke also contributes to a number of cancers.
7)Heart disease and strokes are also more common among smokers than non-smokers.
8)Smoking causes around one in five deaths from heart disease.
9) it is expensive. you could use the money for smothing better.
10) You stink really bad

kids (1995)

WHAT A MOVIE
This movie "portrayed real life crisis's that many do not like to even talk about. If you open your eyes, that movie in reality is what goes around everyday, everywhere. Kids showed the harsh reality of life, living with a disease that you do not even know you have, and if you have one also, this movie makes you feel a little more uncomfortable. This movie may be very controversial but I urge people to watch it, because the lessons learned are endless." http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0113540/usercomments"

COMMENT ON DOMINICS HARRIS BLOG-being bad 18

I think you have made a good point on how prison is secure the inmate, however i believe that though there are securities surrounding the place, the inmates are sometimes killed in their cells, are able to take drugs and commit all sort of bad behaviours. The question is how do all these drugs and stuff come from f the prisons are said to be protected. i don't believe that society actually care about inmates anymore since they are seen as the bad people in society, therefore not enough efforts is put to secure them.

Field trip

VISIT PRISON
A field trip to prison. this has being suggested because , it will help highlights some of the bad behaviours and also the quality f services given to prisoners, as as the kind of violence behaviour that happens in prison . Research have suggested that ,"Violence and the fear of violence can have a major impact on the quality of life in prisons. Everyone in prison has the right to feel safe and to be able to visit, live and work, free from fear of violence, threatening behaviour, intimidation or bullying". http://www.hmprisonservice.gov.uk/adviceandsupport/prison_life/bullying/
